National Technical University of Athens

National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is the most prestigious and most competitive academic
institution for technical education in Greece. NTUA will participate in the project through the Decision
Support Systems Laboratory (DSSLab), a multidisciplinary scientific unit within the School of Electrical and
Computer Engineering.

DSSLab conducts research and development, scientific/technical support and training activities addressing a
wide range of complex research and application problems. Operating for more than 25 years, the lab has
acquired international experience in the following sectors: e-Business, e-Government, Information
Dissemination and Promotion, Information Technology and Decision Support Systems, Energy and
Environmental Policy, Interoperability, Management Information Systems, Program & Project Management,
Monitoring and Evaluation, Training and Human Resources Development.

More specifically, concerning the scientific areas of Electronic Government, Electronic Business and
Interoperability, the G.I.C. (Greek Interoperability Centre) operating within the DSSLab pursues research
and development of novel methods and tools, for boosting productivity of public administrations and
businesses using information and communication technologies. In this context, there is a strong and lasting
collaboration with public sector organizations and enterprises, academic and research institutions, from
Europe, Africa, Asia and US. Acquired know-how is channelled in the creation of vocational and academic
training material, and the implementation of high-quality academic work in the eGovernment, eBusiness and
Interoperability domains.

The activities of DSSLab are organised in a way to ensure maximum efficiency in the execution of its
projects. In this aspect, the goal of our work is to deliver high quality, real working solutions, while strictly
respecting the deadlines and providing on the job training and support to the end users. Towards this
direction, it is also underlined that NTUA-DSSLab is certified with the international quality standard EN
ISO 9001:2000, since May 2005.
